Kalia upazila is situated at about 89.31 longitude and 23.00 latitude. Kalia Upazila can be divided into two parts according to the height of the land. Namely highlands and lowlands. The west bank of the Nabaganga river is called the highlands and the east banks the lowlands. But most recently, low-lying areas are rapidly becoming higher ground. The rivers Madhumati, Nabganga, Chitra, Nolia, Ghorakhali and Kaliganga have contributed a lot to the formation of flat land in the upazila. The climate of the upazila is comfortable. There is a lot of rainfall here due to the influence of monsoon winds. It can be said that there is absolutely no rainfall here due to the influence of north winds in winter. In summer, there is a lot of rainfall due to the effect of Kalbaishakhi. According to the average temperature in the greater Jessore district, the maximum temperature is 6.00 degrees Fahrenheit and the minimum temperature is 6.89 degrees Fahrenheit. The average humidity is 8%. The highest humidity is felt in the upazila from May to August. Due to high rainfall, floods and monsoon winds, Kalia Upazila is very suitable for agricultural work. Notable crops of the upazila are paddy, jute, sugarcane, sesame, mustard, mug, pea, khesari gram etc.
