Functions of Upazila Parishad

    All matters relating to Upazila Parishad funds.
    Regarding the provision of power to spend out of council funds.
    Proposal to levy taxes, rates, tolls and fees.
    Approval of preparation of annual budget, annual accounts and revised budget of the Upazila Parishad.
    Audit of expenditure of Upazila Parishad.
    Five schools, preparation of various term development plans and implementation of annual development programs.
    To implement the programs of various government departments handed over to the council and to supervise and coordinate the work of those departments.
    Processing various contracts for implementation of work by the council.
    Execution of Hatbazar lease settlement agreement.
    Conducting Upazila Parishad meetings.
    Formation of various committees and sub-committees.
